COLLADA (COLLAborative Design Activity) defines an XML-based schema to enable 3D asset exchange between applications. The file extension .dae stands for "Digital Asset Exchange."
Why Use Collada?
Collada is supported by almost all major 3D software, including SketchUp, Blender, Maya, and 3ds Max. It is frequently used to transfer models between different tools in a production pipeline.
Viewer Capabilities
Our online DAE viewer allows you to:
- Inspect SketchUp Exports: Many SketchUp users export to DAE. Use this tool to verify the export looks correct outside of SketchUp.
- Verify Geometry: Ensure that your mesh has exported with the correct triangulation and scale.
- Check Hierarchy: Collada files can contain complex scene graphs; our viewer handles these structures efficiently.
Secure & Private
Like all our tools, this viewer runs locally in your browser. Your 3D models are not uploaded to any cloud server, guaranteeing the security of your designs.
